Points to Ponder with Cary E. Vaughn

Thank You for Being a People of Prayer

Greetings,

I want to take this moment to thank you for praying for the ministry of Love Worth Finding, to remind us all how Jesus taught us to pray, to ask you to petition God specifically for LWF, and to offer to pray for you and those you love.

Our team at LWF is grateful for your prayers. You will never know how much encouragement you send our way, as you talk to the Father on our behalf.

Jesus’ model prayer, the Lord’s Prayer, in Matthew 6, taught us to acknowledge God’s holiness, confess and repent of sin, and yield to God’s will in everything. Jesus taught us to pray persistently and expectantly. Jesus often pulled away from crowds to pray in solitude. We all need to turn off our devices and get alone with God. Jesus said in Matthew 6:6, “…when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.”

We believe our partners are praying to the Father in secret and that God is rewarding their prayers openly. In the last few years, LWF has experienced tremendous growth as an evangelism and discipleship ministry that reaches around the globe in a dozen languages through digital, broadcast, and print media. Though our founder, Adrian Rogers, has been with the Lord since 2005, God continues to use his voice to communicate simply stated truth straight from God’s Word.

We covet your continued prayer. God has graciously given us a dedicated and talented team at LWF; please pray for their health and that God would multiply their efforts for His glory. Pray specifically also for the translators who make Pastor Rogers’ easy-to-understand teaching available to people around the world. Only this week we heard from a missionary to Southeast Asia about the value of translated materials in preparing pastors and discipling new believers. Pray also for new short films currently in production—ask God to use these projects to reach the lost and encourage the Church.

Finally, and most importantly, we want to pray for you. Every prayer request we receive is personally prayed for—a staff member, board member, or volunteer takes your individual request into the secret place and petitions on on your behalf. Go to our website, lwf.org, and use the “Pray for Me” block on the homepage to submit your prayer request.

In Christ’s Love,
