Points to Ponder

Truth Sets Us Free

I hope this newsletter finds you and your loved ones well. But the fact is, we have not all been well. Millions have suffered because of the pandemic—physically and emotionally. We live in a divided country—politically and spiritually. Violence is more and more common; decency less and less so.

It is a difficult time. Many people are genuinely fearful of the future, and Love Worth Finding would never desire to offer false reassurance.

As Christians, you and I have something better: the truth of God’s Word in Scripture and in the person of Jesus Christ. We want to celebrate truth with you in this issue of “On Mission” because sharing the truth is our mission. We’re especially excited about two new truth-sharing opportunities:

  1. LWF premiered the documentary film, “Nothing But The Truth,” in June at the Southern Baptist Convention. The film features Pastor Adrian Rogers, Apologist Lee Strobel, Dr. Tony Evans, and a host of prominent Christian thinkers, along with incisive research from Barna Group. These experts explore the erosion of truth in our culture and the need to stand for biblical truth. In this newsletter, you’ll find out how you can view the film and how you can use it to share truth.
  1. As I wrote this column, the first shipment of the Adrian Rogers Legacy Bible was in transit to our warehouse. Pastor Rogers loved God’s Word and wanted everyone he came in contact with to love it too! You’ll love the stories and quotes we’ve included to encourage you as you study God’s Word. The Bible will be available sometime this summer. Look for it at lwf.org.

I hope you’ll also share the truth in the cover article of this issue. Fear and anxiety are rolling like a global tidal wave, but the truth of God’s Word stands strong against the tide. “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free” (John 8:32).

In His Truth,
